Highway Cowgirl

I was riding down the highway

When i ran out of gasoline

My clothes were dusty my throat was dry

Then i saw that limousine

It appeared at the horizon

I saw the heat above the road

Slowly it moved towards me

The desert wind blew dust from my coat

Highway Cowgirl came my way

Highway Cowgirl made me stay

Highway Cowgirl that’s the price you have to pay

Highway Cowgirl I die once  everyday

I took the whisky bottle from my dirty bag

And i finished up the rest

I dropped the empty bottle in the sand

I felt the hot sun on my back

A rattlesnake hid under a stone

A scorpion past by my feet

An eagle high above me

Was screaming through the heat

Highway Cowgirl came my way

Highway Cowgirl made me stay

Highway Cowgirl that’s the price you have to pay

Highway Cowgirl I die once (each and) everyday

Then the limousine stopped next to me

With a dust cloud at ist wheels

I couldn’t see the driver first / Because of dust and shining steel

But then the air slowly cleared up

And i could not believe my eyes

I will keep your secret written in the desert wind

Highway Cowgirl came my way

Highway Cowgirl made me stay

Highway Cowgirl that’s the price you have to pay

Highway Cowgirl I die once everyday
